I have to admit my Dutch isn’t up to much so I can’t tell you much about this coffee table apart from it was designed by Ronald Knol. What I can tell you is what I think about it. It’s absolutely stunning. And I want one. Discovered at CribCandy Post from:

With many individuals finding great success with social media (and as an aside, a basic understanding of search engine optimization), they immediately consider themselves social media marketers and consultants (as well as seasoned SEOs) and offer to sell their promotional services. What skills, though, do successful social media marketers have that put these individuals above the average (or addicted) social media user, and better yet, above the traditional marketer? I asked several social medi

Late last month, Google announced and released Map Maker, a service that lets users add streets and other underlying data that will eventually make its way to the actual map tiles that you see in Google Maps. To put it—maybe too—simply, it’s like Wikipedia for Google Maps. But this is not like Google’s My Maps service, which lets you create custom maps by adding a layer of data on top of the underlying Google maps imagery. Map Maker lets you update that underlying imagery itself. Interestingly,

Posted by willcritchlowIt’s a movie theme here on SEOmoz this week. After Rebecca’s post on real movies, I’m going to talk about an imaginary one. It’s a movie that would go straight to DVD, but might nonetheless be compelling for those of us who are search geeks. It’s a battle between monsters - the might of Google pitched against some of the largest brands in the world. Anyone see Godzilla vs. King Kong? This is Amazilla vs. King Goog (well, Amazon et al - think any large online retailer)

This election is about the issues. I do want to apologize to Gary Peters for any grief my letter caused to his campaign, even though the letters attacking me made statements that were lies about me and my relationship to Gary Peters and his campaign. Many of the letters were written by Republicans with ties to Joe Knollenberg’s campaign and volunteers working on Knollenberg’s campaign. One letter was written by an employee of the Michigan Republican Party. Suffice it to say, the response letter

From Lost Remote discussing the Google News homepage: Google News not much of a hitI use GN quite a bit - and am generally a big fan. But its home screen never gets my attention, I only use the search function to hit up major keywords each day. Duh huh! That’s what 80%+ of the people do with content centric Web sites. The homepage has become completely irrelevant and totally unnecessary: Searchable wads of content: Pulling the plug on the Web site Google should set an example and take the Googl

Google have launched MapMaker, a kind of faux OpenStreetMap where they own all the data and you’re only allowed to map in certain Freedom Of Speech Zones. Like Knol, the mooted ‘wikipedia killer’, Google refuse to acknowledge existing communities, trample on their hard work and lack the mindset to engage with an open project. But, this really doesn’t matter. What’s fascinating is that they haven’t set themselves up against OpenStreetMap so much but rather TeleAtlas/TomTom, NAVTEQ/Nokia and A
